Review Criteria for NAFA/Falconry Fund Small Grant Program

All proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the NAFA Conservation Committee (and other appointed subject experts, as needed). Reviewers will have broad range of expertise and background and will not necessarily be subject matter experts. Proposals should be written accordingly. The committee will send the RFSG funding recommendations to the NAFA board for formal approval of funds to be distributed. NAFA leadership will forward approved proposals to the FF board for joint award announcement and distribution.

Proposals will be reviewed and evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

For each category, Grant Reviewers who are reviewing each applicant’s proposal will assign points as a way of rating how well this project meets the goals of the RFSG program. Where possible, reviewers will include comments to explain their ratings [such as calling attention to a particularly positive (or negative) feature of the proposal].

1.  The impact the project is likely to make in one or more of the three tiers that support falconry: the  raptors, the traditions and heritage of falconry, and the  people . (the project exemplifies the positive role that falconers and falconry knowledge plays in fostering raptor conservation, wildlife management, or preservation of the rich heritage of North American falconry traditions.) ________ (out of 30)
